Audiences and critics are drawn to the range, versatility and vocal power of American soprano
Melissa Wolfmann. She possesses a vital interpretive ability which is equally showcased by the
dramatic or comedic demands of her repertoire.
Upcoming engagements include Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera with Pacific Repertory
Opera. The Fresno Philharmonic will present Miss Wolfmann in concert, featuring arias of
Giuseppe Verdi.
This season Miss Wolfmann performed the role of Clorinda in La Cenerentola with Fresno
Grand Opera in performances led by Anton Coppola. Other recent highlights include Amelia in
Un Ballo in Maschera with Townsend Opera, Nella in Gianni Schicchi and Sylviane in The
Merry Widow with Fresno Grand Opera.
Other operatic performances include Carmen (Micaëla) with California Opera, Il Trovatore
(Inez), La Traviata (Flora), Die Fledermaus (Ida), Aïda (High Priestess), Carmen (Frasquita )
and Madama Butterfly (Kate Pinkerton) with Fresno Grand Opera.
Recent orchestral performances include Mozart’s Requiem with The Fresno Philharmonic, led
by Theodore Kuchar, and Handel’s Messiah with The Tulare Symphony.
Miss Wolfmann was featured in concert on PBS, for whom she presented music of Puccini.
She was recently a featured guest soloist at the Czech Embassy, in a performance that celebrated
Czech National Independence Day.
