Soprano Stacey Stofferahn has performed with Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Lyric Opera San Diego and Union Avenue Opera. Abroad, Ms. Stofferahn has performed for audiences in Belgium, Austria, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Some of Ms. Stofferahn’s interpretations include the roles of "Hanna" (The Merry Widow), “Mimì” (La bohème), “Alice Ford” (Falstaff), “Contessa” (Le nozze di Figaro), “Fiordiligi” (Così fan tutte), “Donna Elvira” (Don Giovanni), “Magda” (La rondine), and “Helena” (A Midsummer Night’s Dream).
Upcoming engagements in 2010 include an appearance with the Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus, Ohio, in December. Ms. Stofferahn will also return to South Dakota for another holiday concert appearance with members of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. Recent engagements include Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, “Franzi” (Ein Walzertraum) with Lyric Opera San Diego and a European debut as “Viktoria” in Viktoria und Ihr Hussar at the Vlaamse Opera in Gent, Belgium. Ms. Stofferahn also recently appeared as “Erste Dame” in Die Zauberflöte with The Lyric Opera of Kansas City, "Musetta" in Wichita Grand Opera's production of La bohème, Mahler’s Second Symphony with The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, and Mimì in Townsend Opera’s production of La bohème. Ms. Stofferahn was also featured in performances of The Merry Widow with Lyric Opera San Diego and Lyric Opera of Kansas City.
Other career highlights include “Donna Elvira” in Wichita Grand Opera's production of Don Giovanni, and “Belinda” (Dido and Aeneas) with Union Avenue Opera. In concert, Ms. Stofferahn recently appeared with the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra in "Christmas at the Cathedral,” which was broadcast nationally on CBS. In oratorio, Ms. Stofferahn has been featured in performances of Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and Schubert’s Mass in G.
Ms. Stofferahn has performed Spanish Zarzuela in the Napa Valley, where she sang “Emilia” in La Chulapona with The Jarvis Zarzuela Festival. Subsequent appearances at Jarvis include performances of El Barberillo de Lavapiés.
Ms. Stofferahn was a Regional finalist in The Metropolitan Opera Auditions, a Charles Lynam Vocal Competition finalist, a National Opera Association Vocal Competition finalist, a Missouri Federation of Music Clubs First Prize Winner, and a Kansas City NATS First Prize Professional Category Winner.
