Tenor Robert Hoyt recently appeared in the premiere of Heart of Darkness and The Summer King with American Opera Projects, with DiCapo Opera in Susannah and The Merry Widow, in The Crucible with Toledo Opera, La Boheme for Opera Delaware, Ballad of Baby Doe, Candide, and Of Mice and Men for Utah Opera. Other credits include Flying Dutchman for Orlando Opera and Sarasota Opera, La Traviata for Nevada Opera, Lucia di Lammermoor with Metro Lyric Opera and Connecticut Grand Opera, the American premiere of Sadie Thompson by Richard Owen at Avery Fisher Hall, and with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera in Die Fledermaus.
Mr. Hoyt’s musical theater background includes various roles in Sweeney Todd, Sweet Charity, A Little Night Music, Lend Me a Tenor, Student Prince, Naughty Marietta, Evita, Amahl and the Night visitors and Side By Side by Sondheim, which he performed throughout the country. Mr. Hoyt will make his Los Angeles Opera debut in 2010, in performances of Wagner’s Götterdämmerung.
